Description
Description:
Proofex Torchseal 3PI are quality torch applied APP based plain membranes manufactured from premium grade heavily
modifi ed bitumen, reinforced with a core of non-woven polyester fabric. The core gives the membrane its excellent mechanical properties, allows for good elongation and off rods high resistance to piercing. Proofex Torchseal 3PI membranes are ideal for use in a wide range of waterproofing applications such as shallow foundations, basements, tunnels, roofs, carpark decks and other civil works. The chemical resistance of Proofex Torchseal 3PI makes it particularly suitable for tanking applications in areas where aggressive ground water conditions prevail.
Uses:
To provide waterproof ng and damp-proof membranes for:
- Concrete roof and Fl our slabs
- Shallow Basement Tankings
- Car park deck slabs
- Concrete retaining structures
- Tunnels and subways
Advantages:
- High strength reinforcement gives excellent resistance to puncture and stress
- Easily torch applied
- Readily formed to contours
Specific cation:
The waterproofing membrane shall be Proofex Torchseal 3PI a high-performance APP based torch applied 3mm thick plain membrane, manufactured from high quality polymer – modify ed bituminous compounds and reinforced with non-woven polyester fabric.
Instructions for use
Surface preparation
Concrete surfaces should be Fl oat fi noshed and free from cavities and projecting nibs. All surfaces shall be dry and free from frost, surface laitance and contamination.
Priming
Proofex Torchseal Primer must be applied to the substrate and allowed to dry until it is tack free, prior to the application of
the membrane. All surfaces must be re-primed if left for more than 24 hours prior to the application of Proofex Torchseal
membranes.
Application
The membrane is unrolled and placed in the correct position where it is to be torched on later. During each stage, each roll
must overlap the next layer by at least 10cm. The membrane is rolled back without changing the orientation. The rolled membrane is slowly unrolled again, while its surface is lightly heated, transversally, by means of a propane gas torch, thus causing surface melting and subsequent adhesion to the surface. End joints should be made with a minimum of 15cm overlap.
Application tools and equipment:
The tools and equipment required to apply Proofex Torchseal 3PI membrane include a propane gas torch with related gas
cylinder, a knife for cutting the membrane to size and a trowel with a rounded tip. Protective gloves and goggles are necessary when using the gas torch.
