Firestop Sealant CP 606 – Acrylic-Based Fire Protection Sealant

Firestop Sealant CP 606 is an acrylic-based firestop sealant designed for movement in fire-rated joints and through-penetration applications. It offers superior fire and smoke resistance while meeting LEED™ indoor environmental quality standards.

Areas of Application

• Construction and expansion joints

• Top-of-wall joints

• Metal pipes and cable bundles

• HVAC penetrations

• Suitable for masonry, concrete, gypsum, and other base materials

• Wall and floor assemblies rated up to 3 hours

• Sealing expansion joints to prevent passage of fire, smoke, and toxic fumes

Notice

• Read Material Safety Data Sheet and product label before use

• Use backing material to control sealant depth and ensure proper sealing

Steps

1. Clean the Opening – Remove debris, dirt, oil, wax, and grease; ensure surface is dry

2. Insert Backer – Fill with mineral wool or recommended backing

3. Apply Sealant – Cover backer with CP 606

4. Smooth Surface – Use trowel before skin forms; cured sealant can only be removed mechanically

5. Maintenance Marking – Optionally mark penetrations with an identification plate

Not for Use

• Areas immersed in water

Storage

• Store in original packaging, protected from moisture

• Keep temperature between 40°F to 77°F (5°C to 25°C)

• Observe expiration date
