Conbextra Block Jointing Mortar is a ready to use dry powder which is blend of Portland Cement, Grade aggregates and
special additives. The addition of specifi ed amount of water produces a soft mortar with excellent spread ability & high
tensile adhesion properties. Conbextra Block Jointing Mortar is a self-curing mortar and does not require water curing.
Uses:
Conbextra Block Jointing Mortar is used as bedding mortar for fi Xing AAC Blocks and Fly-ash bricks. The product can
also be used for fi xing hollow blocks. The mortar design ensures fast and easy application of blocks with least wastage

Specifi cation Clause:
The block jointing mortar shall be a prepacked material requiring only water addition at site .The material should have
self – curing properties. The product shall have compressive strength > 7 Mpa.
Application Instructions
Substrate
The substrate must be structurally sound, free from laitance, clean and free from dirt, oil, grease, lose or friable particles. The substrate must be in SSD condition prior to application of mortar.
Mixing:
The recommend water/ powder ratio for Conbextra Block Joining Mortar is 0.25 to 0.27. The maximum permitted water
content per 40 kg bag is 10.8 Ltrs. The material should be mixed mechanically using a slow speed drill & paddle to bring it to uniform consistency. Its recommended to add two third quantity of water in the mixing drum and pour mortar powder slowly. The balance water shall be added in end. The material shall be mixed for minimum 3 minutes to get a homogeneous consistency.

Preparation
If substrate is found to be porous and relative humidity is low, it is recommended to saturate the surface with water (S.S.D
Condition). there should not be any standing water. The homogeneous mortar shall be spread over block and shall be spread in a uniform thickness of 3 to 4mm. Firmly place the block on top with slight shear to ensure good contact and bonding.

Packing
Conbextra Block Jointing Mortar is supplied in 40 kg bag. The yield per 40 kg bag is 31.25 ltrs approx. @ W/p ratio of 0.25.
Storage
Conbextra Block Jointing Mortar has a shelf life of 6 months when stored in covered dry shed and in sealed bags.
If stored in high temperature and high humidity locations, the shelf life may be reduced.
Health and Safety
Conbextra Block Jointing Mortar is alkaline and should not come into contact with skin and eyes. Inhalation of dust during mixing should be avoided. Gloves, goggles and dust mask should be worn. If contact with skin occurs, it shall be washed with water. Splashes to eyes should be washed immediately with plenty of clean water and medical advice sought.
